Snake Cake! o_0

Albino Burmese Python Cake

(Made completely from scratch and completely edible)
THIS WAS SOOOO MUCH FUN TO MAKE!
Here's a little bit of what went on in the making of this masterpiece that eventually got cut up and devoured by very excited 6 and 7 year olds....

Anniversary Cake

This is a strawberry cake with strawberry filling covered in vanilla buttercream with a little surprise inside! :)

After baking the cakes, I cut the first layer, placed the jewelry
box (wrapped in protective plastic), adden the strawberry
preserve, then topped it with the second layer.
Voila!

Don't forget Valentine's Day is around the corner!! I'm ready!

Happy New Year!!!

2013!!!

I am starting this year with these amazing treats I made. We are all having a sugar overload at the moment. I made chocolate cake pops covered in vanilla, chocolate and butterscotch frost and a variety of sprinkles! The cupcakes are chocolate as well, with peppermint frosting and I made little clocks out of peppermint patties and marshmallows. I had a ton of fun!

This year was incredible...I made lots of discoveries. One of them was this: baking and decorating. For 2013, I really want to grow more and more as a creative baker, and not only be able to provide a little bit for my family with something I'm passionate about, but also express myself through flour and sugar, sugar paste and sprinkles and much much more.

I hope this upcoming year is filled with HOPE, PEACE & JOY for all of you who support me and are constantly keeping up with this blog....(HOPE, PEACE & JOY...cliche I know! But that is exactly what today's world needs...) And don't forget, LOVE. I love you all!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!

Ho Ho Ho!

Merry Christmas Cupcakes

This Christmas is so far one of the best Christmases yet. I am so happy I had the chance to share the kitchen with my mother and my little sister this year. We had a blast! We made Vanilla on Vanilla Cupcakes and Vanilla on Chocolate cupcakes decorated with festive Christmas sugar, shimmer dust and topped with shortbread cookies.
We also made our traditional Puerto Rican treats: polvorones and tembleque, and I brought two bottles of Coquito, a puerto rican egg nog (with coconut milk and lots of Bacardi Rum of course).
Enjoy these cute delish cupcakes I made with lots of love for my big fat puerto rican family christmas celebration. It's gonna be a BOMBAAA!
Merry Chrsitmas/Feliz Navidad!

3D Cake

Slot Machine Cake

I took on this project this week, and it was quite the journey. There are so many little steps in making a 3D cake, it is crazy!

This is a devil's food firm chocolate cake with buttercream, fondant, royal icing and chocolate coins.

Here are SOME of the many steps to get this done:
(bake, carve, crumb coat, apply fondant...)

Voila! What do you guys think??

Weddings. Anniversary. New Year's. Valentine's Day.

White Cupcakes topped with Fondant

Gorgeous cupcakes that taste soooo good. What more can you ask for.
These are perfect either for a wedding or for a regular day when you feel like telling that special someone how you feel.

They are white cakes with vanilla buttercream topped with homemade marshmallow fondant, pearls and marzipan flowers. YUM-O!

A Colorful Ice Age

Ice Age Cupcake Cake

It's so simple..I made a very colorful round cake then topped it with even more colorful cupcakes.. :) I've been wanting to do this for a while, and for this one I was excited to give it that mountain effect with the "snow" kind of sitting there.

It is a yellow cake with no taste food coloring. I made little crowns of fondant, added extra sprinkles and placed the Ice Age friends on this iced mountain. My little friend will definitely like this.

This cake will serve about 10 people, for a small celebration. Just to give you an estimate.
I am planning on making a version of this but even bigger yet...stay tuned!!

Oliver turns 2!!

Elmo Birthday Cake

It's been an emotional couple of days for me. My son turned 2 on Thanksgiving Day...I couldn't be more thankful for anything else in the world!!! My munchkin is my life! Soooo...I made this cake for him! He loves anything Elmo and anything Sesame Street. He was so excited about this cake than any other food I've put in front of him.

It is a 3-layer white cake with decorator's frosting, homemade marshmallow fondant for the circles, the letters and the number 2 on the back of the cake, and a marzipan Elmo 3D figure I made and sat him on a big pile of confetti....

...it was gone in minutes!!
